Spearheaded by five widely recognized partners, all having worked on sophisticated commercial real estate matters in New York City for international and large New York City law firms, our 14 person real estate group has an extremely wide range of experience in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions. Whether a matter involves a real estate acquisition, disposition, ground-up development, financing, joint venture, lease, condominium or workout or dispute, our attorneys have the knowledge to efficiently guide our clients to the successful conclusion of a deal, while adding value to the process. Our projects vary in size with many in excess of $100,000,000, and involve projects all across the United States.

Our projects involve all types of real estate, including: office buildings, hotels, residential complexes, shopping centers, industrial projects and mixed use projects.

Given our partners' wealth of knowledge and experience gained from years of practice and training in New York City with our main office location in White Plains, NY, we are able to provide our clients a more cost effective, very attractive first-rate service and sophisticated rate structure, while providing our clients advice from seasoned and experienced professionals.

Recently, attorneys in our group have closed, or are currently working on, the following variety of transactions:

  • Acquisitions and DispositionsPurchase of (i) four apartment buildings in New York City, including a 175 unit building on 57th Street and 8th Avenue; (ii) the unsold cooperative units in five separate cooperative buildings in New York City; and (iii) a residential management company on behalf of a well-known metropolitan real estate owner.
  • Development$84 Million acquisition and development of a landmarked warehouse in lower Manhattan, which included: contract negotiation, due diligence, negotiation of an acquisition and construction loan adverse to a major European institutional lender and the preparation of an offering plan for the conversion of the development into high-end, luxury condominium units. 
  • Financing, Workouts and Mezzanine Loans. $50 Million construction loan representing the lender, which involved an assemblage of a Park Avenue site, zoning lot merger agreements and “FAR Certificates”.
  • Joint VenturesSettlement of a “right of first offer” deadlock, resulting in the sale of a 50% interest in a New York City office building worth in excess of $700 Million, including the negotiation of a joint venture agreement and a complex refinancing and defeasance.
  • Leasing . 70,000 square feet office lease on behalf of an institutional landlord in its “Class A” office building in mid-town Manhattan adverse to a Fortune 10 Company for its headquarters in Rockefeller Center.
  • Condominiums and CooperativesComplex $55 Million Mortgage financing for Skyview Owners Corp., a cooperative housing corporation, including representation of co-op board, negotiation of all loan documents and all necessary approvals. Represent condominium and cooperative boards in all aspects of real estate, corporate and litigation matters for buildings containing in excess of an aggregate of 3,800 units, in the New York metropolitan area.

Our clients include: national and regional developers, multi-generational real estate owners and operators, institutional investors, REITs and virtually all other types of owners and operators of real estate. Because of the complicated nature of most of our transactions, we frequently work with other departments in the Firm, including the corporate, healthcare, tax and litigation departments.
