Michael Friedman is a partner of Kurzman Eisenberg and the Chair of the firm’s Trusts & Estates Litigation and Elder Law & Special Needs practice groups.
With over 30 years of experience in the field, Michael’s Trusts & Estates Litigation practice includes will contests, administration proceedings, accounting proceedings, discovery and turnover proceedings, fiduciary removal proceedings, and construction proceedings, as well as commercial litigation relating to estates and trusts. Michael’s litigation practice also includes the representation of guardians and parties in contested and uncontested guardianship proceedings.
Michael is a certified mediator and frequently serves as mediator in connection with contested trusts and estates matters. Michael also utilizes his skill and experience as a mediator to resolve disputes for his private clients through mediation, negotiations, and settlements.
Michael’s experience and practice also extends to all phases of estate and trust administration, including the probate of wills, the preparation of Federal and State Estate Tax returns, estate tax audits, and the preparation and prosecution of fiduciary accountings.
A well-respected practitioner in the Trusts & Estates Litigation community, Michael frequently lectures on topics relating to Surrogate’ s Court practice and Trusts & Estates Litigation.
Prior to joining Kurzman Eisenberg, Michael served as a Court Attorney-Referee to Surrogate Lee L. Holzman in Bronx County Surrogate’s Court.
