Hanoch Sheps

Senior Counsel

Hanoch Sheps is Senior Counsel in Kurzman Eisenberg’s Litigation and Art Law practice groups.  His practice focuses on commercial litigation, dispute resolution, and art law matters, with particular experience in the fine art, collectibles, and specie industries, as well as the inland marine and marine sectors.

Hanoch represents domestic and international businesses and individuals in a broad range of commercial disputes in both state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution forums.  He regularly advises clients on matters involving contractual disputes, business torts, ownership and title claims, consignment disputes, insurance coverage issues, and other complex commercial controversies involving fine art, collectibles, precious gems, and other specialty property.

Hanoch has substantial experience handling complex insurance matters, including multimillion-dollar claims and coverage disputes. He has advised clients on coverage determinations, subrogation, broker liability, and bad faith claims, and has represented clients in matters involving consumer goods, industrial products, and other high-value property losses.  His experience allows him to provide practical guidance on risk management, claims strategy, and dispute resolution throughout all stages of a matter.

In addition to his litigation practice, Hanoch serves as outside counsel, advising on day-to-day operational and legal issues. He drafts and negotiates a variety of agreements, including fine art consignment agreements, artist representation agreements, warehousing and transport agreements, and other commercial contracts. He also counsels clients on risk management, emerging technologies, and business strategies designed to mitigate legal exposure and support commercial objectives.

Prior to joining Kurzman Eisenberg, Hanoch spent more than a decade practicing at boutique and national litigation and insurance law firms, where he developed extensive experience advising clients on complex commercial disputes, insurance coverage issues, and claims involving fine art, specie, marine cargo, and other high-value assets.
