In addition to having coached soccer in Chappaqua for more than 15 years, he is a past Commissioner for the American Youth Soccer Organization’s local region, and currently serves on the Town of New Castle’s Recreation and Parks Commission. But his biggest passion is the charity he formed in 2011. The charity, Dawn’s Ray of Hope, raises money for cancer patient support programs. Its signature event is an all-night softball marathon in September called “Dusk to Dawn” in which Mr. Re’s team plays other teams from 5:30 p.m. one evening until 6:30 a.m. the next morning. This year’s event is scheduled for Friday, September 9 to Saturday, September 10.
