Spanning nearly 150 works, the Loeb Collection is widely regarded as one of the most significant private collections of Danish art ever assembled. It will headline a series of marquee auctions this season, led by works from Vilhelm Hammershøi and including paintings by key figures of the Danish Golden Age and Modern Breakthrough, such as Bertha Wegmann, P. S. Krøyer, and Anna Ancher.

Together, the group offers a broad survey of Denmark’s artistic tradition. It has been a privilege to support Ambassador Loeb in bringing this collection to market. Built over several decades, the collection reflects a sustained engagement with Danish art and culture and demonstrates both depth and range.

Ambassador Loeb’s time in Denmark informed a long-standing interest in the country’s artistic heritage. The resulting collection stands as an important example of Danish works in private hands. It will be presented through a series of international exhibitions in Copenhagen, Gstaad, St. Moritz, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Los Angeles, London, and New York.

The consignment was realized in collaboration with Ambassador Loeb and the team at Phillips, including Jeremiah Evarts, and marks a significant moment for the market for Danish art. The collection will come to auction this spring.
