John C. Re

Partner

John C. Re is a Partner in the Litigation practice group of Kurzman Eisenberg. John has a wide range of experience in trial and appellate courts, both state and federal, in a variety of matters from simple to extremely complex. He has handled actions involving trust and estate matters, contracts, restrictive covenants, insurance claims, structured settlements, partnership disputes, and real estate transactions; and he has particular expertise in the areas of commercial mortgage foreclosures and related loan workouts, and has lectured on these topics for CLE providers.

John began his legal career as a litigation associate at Rogers & Wells in New York. John thereafter joined a small mid-town firm, before becoming a founding member of the predecessor to Aronauer, Re & Yudell, LLP where he practiced until joining Kurzman Eisenberg in early 2016.
John is active in his hometown of Chappaqua, New York, coaching soccer for more than 15 years and serving on the Regional Board (being Regional Commissioner from 2001-2004) of the local AYSO program, and serving as a commission on the Town of New Castle’s Recreation and Parks Commission from 2008 through 2020. His volunteer work has not gone unrecognized.

John was presented with: Chappaqua AYSO’s Peter Grishman Award in 2007; the E. Mario Cribari Voluntary Service Award from the Westchester Recreation and Park Society in 2015; a Proclamation of the Westchester County Board of Legislators declaring December 22, 2020 “John Re Day” in Westchester County for his many years of exceptional and dedicated service to the Chappaqua Community; a Proclamation from New York State Senator Pete Harckham similarly recognizing John in December 2020; and the Horace Greeley Scholarship Fund’s Ed Habermann Award in 2017.

John and his family are also involved in fundraising activities, participating in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life since 2007, events for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and their own charity Dawn’s Ray of Hope, Inc., which raises money to support cancer patients and the organizations that provide services directly to the patients.
