Joel Lever is a founding partner of Kurzman Eisenberg Corbin & Lever, LLP, where he has built a distinguished career as a transactional attorney concentrating in both corporate law and art law. He brings unparalleled expertise in guiding clients through complex legal and strategic challenges, whether the matter is an acquisition and integration of an operating business or the purchase of multimillion dollar art collections.

Joel represents clients in a wide range of general corporate law and commercial matters. His corporate practice includes the representation of both public and private sector companies in strategic acquisitions, joint ventures and venture capital financing. Joel provides tailored, business-oriented counsel to companies during pivotal moments for their business and their assets. He advises both acquiring companies and targets regarding mergers and acquisitions as well as leveraged buyouts. Joel also provides representation to medical practices, nursing homes, health maintenance organizations and provider networks in their general business operations as well as on policy matters and before state agencies.  

Joel has a unique art law practice which includes the representation of high net worth collectors and dealers as well as artists and publishers.  He handles sophisticated transactions including the purchase and sale of fine art and antiquities through private sales and through auction houses, as well as secured lending against fine art, art licensing and publication, and loans to museums. He continually counsels art professionals through their legal needs from start to finish, including commissioning art installations, licensing intellectual property rights, managing sophisticated tax-driven transactions, and planning for trusts and estates. Joel also negotiates and resolves claims of title, authenticity and other related claims.
