Lawrence Blumberg is a partner in Kurzman Eisenberg’s Trusts & Estates practice group.

Larry’s broad legal and practical experience enables him to advise clients in a wide range of areas, including estate and gift planning, estate and trust administration, real estate, business transactions, and tax issues including charitable giving.  He derives immense satisfaction from his close client relationships, many of which span generations.

In 1977, Larry established Gerald & Lawrence Blumberg, LLP, a New York law firm that represented individuals, families and their business and charitable ventures.  In January, 2017, Larry and his colleagues joined Kurzman Eisenberg.

Larry is involved in many philanthropic causes, especially Israel’s Weizmann Institute of Science, which he has served for over 40 years.  He is the Vice-Chair of the Institute’s Executive Board and Management Committee, a Trustee and Chair of the Oversight Board of its multi-billion dollar global endowment, and Chair of the Board of Trustees of its graduate school.  In 2013, he completed three terms as National Chair of the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science, Inc., where he continues to play a major role.  In 2001, the Weizmann Institute of Science awarded him a Ph.D. Honoris Causa for his service.

Larry also serves as Vice-President of Copland House, Inc., which supports American classical music and emerging composers from its base at Aaron Copland’s former home in Westchester County. He is also a Director of the Columbia Law School Association.
