Jessica Galligan Goldsmith is Named a New York Metro Super Lawyer for the Sixth Consecutive Year

Jessica Galligan Goldsmith of Kurzman Eisenberg Corbin & Lever, LLP has been named to the 2014 edition of New York Metro Super Lawyers, a listing of the region’s outstanding attorneys who are recognized for professional achievement in the New York Metropolitan area. Earlier this year, Ms. Goldsmith was also selected for the 2014 Super Lawyer list of Top Women Attorneys in the New York metropolitan area.  Both lists are published by Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters attorney rating service, which assembles the lists using a patented selection process involving peer nominations, independent research, and peer evaluations. Each year, only five percent of all attorneys in New York State are selected for Super Lawyers lists.

“Anyone who has had the privilege of working with Jessica knows that she is exceptionally skilled and knowledgeable in navigating the complexities of estate and tax planning,” notes Joel S. Lever, a founding partner of Kurzman Eisenberg Corbin & Lever, LLP. “Jessica excels at providing personal service. She can drill down and identify priorities as well as bottlenecks to resolve matters to the client’s satisfaction.”

Mr. Lever also credits Ms. Goldsmith for the rapid growth of Kurzman Eisenberg’s Trusts and Estates practice, which now has a professional staff of 11 attorneys and paralegals. “While large law firms are shrinking their Trusts and Estates practices, ours has grown significantly over the past four years,” he notes. “Jessica’s leadership has enabled us to attract strong legal talent, and to provide clients with economical, yet extremely sophisticated legal services for themselves and their families, as well as for their businesses and investments.”

Jessica Galligan Goldsmith, a resident of Armonk, New York, was first named a Super Lawyer in 2009 and has been included in the list every year since, for a total of six years in a row. In 2014, she was selected by the Super Lawyer organization for both its 2014 list of New York Super Metro Super Lawyers and its 2014 list of Top Women Attorneys in the New York. In 2010 and 2011, Ms. Goldsmith was named one of the Top 25 Attorneys in Westchester.

AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, Ms. Goldsmith advises clients in the areas of estate and gift planning, charitable planning, estate administration and planning for closely held businesses. Her defining traits are the quality of her work, excellent judgment, and her close relationships with clients. While Ms. Goldsmith’s technical skills enable her to create sophisticated tax-efficient gift and estate plans, her knowledge of and intuition with regard to family dynamics enables her to craft reasonable solutions that are mutually satisfying for all parties.

Ms. Goldsmith is a member of the exclusive Estate Planning Council of Westchester County Inc., the New York City Bar Association where she serves as a member of the Estate and Gift Tax Committee, the Metro New York Philanthropic Advisors Network, the New York State Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association, and the Westchester Women’s Bar Association. Ms. Goldsmith is admitted to the Bar in both New York and Connecticut, as well as the United States Tax Court.  She obtained her J.D. at Harvard University and her B.A., cum laude, at Bryn Mawr College.
